Statements
and even straw, have each in their turn been used for the purpose of stocking. A remarkable weapon—the stock composed of many-coloured plaited straws—is in the Dresden Museum. The weight of the arm—a ball gun, the barrel 34 inches long—is barely 6½ pounds; the effect of the brightly-dyed straws is pleasing, and the numerous plains are fixed and the stock made rigid by a strong glue.
