Statements
The placing of consecutive numbers one on each folio of a book; may also refer to the overall configuration of the numbering in the book. Each folio therefore has two pages, sometimes distinguished as recto and verso, or a and b sides, but these will change according to the direction of writing. Defining as left or right sides of a leaf will avoid this problem.
